***The OFAC data included with Senzing G2 package is a sample for demo purposes and should NOT be used for any productive, official, or legal capacity.***
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) provides various lists for screening purposes. For demo purposes, Senzing G2 includes a sample of the OFAC Consolidated Sanctions List already converted into JSON for use. For specifics on the OFAC Consolidated Sanctions List please go here.
Configuring OFAC data in G2 Senzing
Before proceeding please review the G2 Evaluation FAQ "How to load my own data?" topic. In the case of the OFAC sample data, the files are already formatted for you. If you are using standard install of Senzing G2, you will only need to change the productFileName in the G2Project.ini to something like:
Make sure any other projectFileName entry in the G2Project.ini is commented out with a '#'.
Once that is done, use the G2Loader.py as described in the G2 Evaluation Quickstart to load the OFAC data. If you want to integrate the OFAC data with your own data, then load your data without purging the repository as described in the G2 Evaluation FAQ "How to incrementally load data?" topic.
Now Available !! OFAC sample scripts to process updated data yourself
Please see the ofac_converter.tgz attached to this article.
* python 2.7
* xmljson module (can be installed via python "pip" program)
* SDN.XML file copied to current directory, downloaded from https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/SDN-List/Pages/sdn_data.aspx
How to run:
Change to the directory containing the SDN.XML, SDN2G2.xsl, and processOFAC.py files
Run: python processOFAC.py > sdng2.json
That JSON file can then use loaded using the G2Loader.py.
